Petersfield

Designed by Ann-Marie Powell, this project involved the tasteful transformation of an old farmyard within a private country estate. With any old property you feel a huge responsibility to achieve a result that compliments the skills of those that were there before you. These type of projects really have been the most challenging and fulfilling over the years.

Hundreds of tonnes of concrete from the old yard were lifted, crushed and re-used during the build. Reclaimed York stone was used to create a raised seating terrace and steps. Granite setts were laid to form a grid pattern amongst the new gravel courtyard surface, which also frame new planting beds that balance the expansive area. Existing sandstone cobbles were carefully lifted and relaid to restore the unique area adjacent to the main house.
